Who we are

My name is Katie Nielson, and I have started this journey of breeding bulldogs with my partner, Terry in the heart of the prairies in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

My history with animals started from the young age of 5 years old. I have always had an obsession with all animals, but more specifically dogs & horses. So it is not surprising that my entire adult life has been devoted to them.

I started working with animals at 12 years old where I began riding & training horses. At the age of 16 I worked & saved up enough money to purchase my first horse. It was then that I learned how to use Parelli training techniques which focused on natural horsemanship, pressure & release and gave me incredible experience (that would later then transfer on to dogs.) However, I was not able to continue to afford to pursue horses so I then moved to the next best thing - dogs of course. At the age of 19 I started my career as a dog groomer. Following that, I opened my own grooming salon, doggie daycare, boarding kennel & training facility at the age of 24. I am the founder and president of Central Bark Inc.

My story of opening my own dog daycare and grooming salon was full of hardships. I never came from a wealthy family, and it took a tremendous amount of dedication and strength, especially coming from a family with little to no experience with animals. But I knew the knowledge and experience I had obtained over the years working with animals would allow me to ultimately persevere. Sure enough, now here I am, breeding bulldogs with an incredible background and understanding of canine behaviour. I have worked with many breeds, and no breed could compare the bulldog. A toddler in canine form, goofy, silly, unique, not too large- but not too small, my favourite breed and the perfect dog for me. It is my ultimate goal to help produce the healthiest and best Pacific Bulldogs possible.

I am forever grateful for all of the support I have received over the years, allowing me to take that leap of faith on my path in continuing my passion for animals. This is just the beginning of another journey and I cannot wait to see what we produce here at Beastie Bulls.
